Are you flagging in your New Year’s resolutions already? The initial excitement of sticking to a workout routine has faded, and a few weeks later into your new routine it’s getting harder every morning and you are at the stage where you need motivation or a drill sergeant.
There are a few tips and tricks that will help you get motivated, and get moving.
1/15 – Start small
Setting yourself a major fitness milestone early in your new routine may be a bit too ambitious, and you could be setting yourself up for failure. Psychologists will tell you: watching yourself fail will make it harder to keep your positive attitude and ongoing motivation. We need to see ourselves achieve even a small milestone to help us stick to the achievement of a major goal. So if your goal is to lose 20 pounds, set yourself weekly goals that are achievable like losing 2 pounds a week (or some other reasonably achievable goal).
